Flood Risk Mapping

Colleton County, SC - Flood Insurance Study
ESP Associates, under subcontract with AECOM completed the hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for flood sources in Colleton County and developed FEMA DFIRM database compliant GIS deliverables. The project included the following scope of services:

  • Development of H&H modeling for 266 miles of stream
  • Hydrologic calculations were developed using USGS gage analysis and regression equations
  • Hydraulic calculations were developed using HEC-RAS version 3.1.1
  • FEMA compliant floodplain boundaries were developed and submitted for incorporation in the preliminary Flood Insurance Study for Colleton County
  • The project was performed on an expedited schedule and completed within 60 days

  • Western NC Map Libraries - NC Floodplain Mapping
    As part of ESP's role on the Watershed Concepts team for the NC Floodplain Mapping Program, ESP was responsible for the development of five flood warning map libraries to support the State of North Carolina Flood Inundation Mapping and Alert Network (FIMAN).

    The Map libraries will be used by State and local emergency managers to graphically display current and projected flood inundation areas and depths for vulnerable locations throughout the State.

    Carter County, OK Flood Insurance Study: FEMA Region VI Automated Approximate Analysis and Floodplain Mapping
    As part of ESP's role on the Watershed VI Joint venture under IDIQ contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region VI, ESP performed all of the approximate H&H analysis for Carter County, OK.
